allowed Elaine to let loose w ith paint, wallpaper,
and textiles to m atch the room to its occupant,
A nn Hanover, “a high-octane person w ith a
vivacious, go-getter personality.” The result is a

BEFORE
After her husband
died, Washington state
resident Ann Hanover
moved to upstate New
York to be near her son
and his family. Ann kept
only a few favorite pieces
during the downsizing,
including the bowfront
dresser that now serves as
an elegant nightstand.
“This is the first home
she’s ever had that’s all
about her, just her,” says
designer Elaine Griffin.
